The galaxy is a huge and never ending place, full of stars, planets, moons, and asteroids. I’d always wonder if i would ever get to explore it. There are so many questions that need to be answered about the universe, like is there other planets like ours with life, water, food, and oxygen. Or are there other beings living amongst us that we haven’t discovered yet. One day i won a contest. The prize was to be an astronaut and go out in space and see all the meteorites and galaxies.  The launch happens tomorrow, i just have to wait till then. I was staring at the moon all night waiting for the sun to take its place. Once the moon rose i was too tired to get up from staying up all night. Once we got there it was about five o’clock. As i walked up to the shuttle i felt like an ant compared to it. It was one of the tallest things I’ve ever been so close too. We lifted off into space. I was amazed by  how much force it had when we took off, i thought i  was going to fly out of my seat. When we got out of Earth’s atmosphere, I looked around, it was the most amazing thing I’d ever seen. I could see lots of stars near by. When we got to the moon, I jumped out. It felt like i weighed a pound. I could jump higher than I ever have on a trampoline. Before we had to go, I ran around to the dark side of the moon. It was pitch black, I couldn’t see a thing! When it was time to go we got in the shuttle and took off back for earth. On our way back I saw a International Space Station. When we landed I was disappointed cause i wanted to do it again. But at least I got to do it once.  When we headed home I looked back on the moon and how cool it was, and I said to myself “I’m going to be an astronaut when I get older.”
